Depuis 2006, l'instrument IASI équipe les satellites européens Metop.
Sa force : en plus de la température et de l'humidité, il mesure plus de 25 composants atmosphériques avec une grande précision. Le CNES travaille à son évolution, IASI-NG, pour que ces données essentielles aux prévisions météorologiques, à la pollution et à la surveillance du climat ne s'arrêtent pas.

Comat is developing the mechanical part of the SCan Mechanism (SCM) of the IASING instrument (Infrared Atmospheric Sounding Interferometer, New Generation), which belongs to the series of MetOp- SG satellites (Meteorological Operational Satellite, Second Generation).
This development is performed in collaboration with ADS, in charge of building the IASI-NG instrument (and also of supplying le electronic part of the SCM).
